Fakalofa Lahi Atu, ko au koe tama Niue.
My name is Monuina Lakua and I am an organic social media manager based in South Auckland, New Zealand.
I work with small businesses, schools, and community organisations to help them tell the human stories behind their work.
Most businesses are busy doing the work. They do not always stop to see what makes their story special. The small details, the effort behind the scenes, the people, the pride, the early starts, and the everyday moments that feel normal to them are often the exact things that build trust with others.
I help businesses in Papakura, Manurewa and surrounding areas notice those moments and share them through organic social media in a way that feels natural, honest, and human.
Before starting my own business, I studied communications, majoring in public relations, and then spent more than a decade working in sales and marketing. That background gave me a strong understanding of business, communication, and people, but over time I realised I was always most drawn to the human side of the work.
Today, alongside my own business, I also work with Auckland Teaching Gardens Trust as their Regional Social Media Lead, supporting several community teaching gardens across Auckland. That work keeps me closely connected to community storytelling, food growing, local relationships, and the people behind meaningful grassroots work.
I am also passionate about pottery and grateful to be part of the Manurewa Pottery Club. Creative spaces like these influence the way I see the world — noticing detail, patience in the process, and the value of work that takes time.
My approach to social media is observation based. I pay attention to the environment, the energy, the people, and the work happening behind the scenes. I believe trust is built through real stories, real effort, and the people behind the work.
